The history so far:

Part 1.

The ongoing Grand Conjunction Campaign is a project that started many years ago in Athens. Back then, a number of people left Faerun after a number of events led them to a swamp a few days travel south of Waterdeep, where they found the ancient rooting grounds of the Father of all Treants. That creature was stolen from Toril and moved to a place known as Forlorn, where, poisoned by the soil of that black land, spawned the Death's Head Trees and Blackroots that infest the Demiplane of Dread until this day. This tormented creature existed in a travesty of its former self, until an unnamed wizard killed it and took it outside of Forlorn, to use for his own purposes and experiments.

But something went awry and from a scroll that somehow a kept a piece of the creature's sentience alive, a fireball spell was released, incinerating the wizard in the process. Bit by bit, branch by branch, the pieces came together and the creature that was once known as the Azenwrath, arose again, and begun to put together its parts. Each of those parts were calling to it from near and from far, for you see, the wizard had sold much of the treant's body to further fund his research. And in the end, it was the Azenwrath's calling that brought the heroes to the Dreaded Realm to remove a part that they had.

The players arrived to the domain of Souragne, and followed in the footsteps of the adventure Night of the Walking Dead. By the end of the scenario, they barely escaped with their lives (and their sanity) intact, and they made their way to Port D'Elhour, a coastal town where they could find a ship to Ravenloft's core domains. After they replenished their stockpile and weapons, acquired a map and found a seaworthy vessel, they embarked for Lamordia and the port town of Ludendorf. There, on the snowy streets, was their first encounter with an agent of the Azenwrath. They managed to defeat this construct and bloody, but victorious made their way to Darkon and the city of Il Aluk.

The party marvelled at the great city and at the fact that it was the first time their non-human companions of the party didn't receive the could shoulder from the population, as the domain proved to be multi-cultured. There, chasing their own agendas, they decided to follow an elven warrior from the world of Krynn, to meet up with his band of fellow "freedom fighters" against the oppressive forces of Vlad Drakov, the lord of a neighbouring domain who enslaved non humans and used them as slaves or in forced labour. But little they knew, that the leader of the warband, Kraal the Longhorn, a Krynnish Minotaur, was after a different prize, that was going to drag the party into a trap.
